Vacuum Furnaces · FL-GPF
Vacuum high-temperature furnace that purifies graphite powder, electrodes and shaped products by volatilising metallic impurities.
Above roughly 2,400 °C the metallic impurities in graphite — iron, silicon, aluminium, calcium and their compounds — volatilise and are pumped away, leaving carbon behind. Held at 2,800–3,000 °C the process reaches very high carbon purity without the chlorine or halogen chemistry used in wet purification routes.
The furnace is used for battery anode graphite, isostatic graphite blocks, EDM electrodes, crucibles and carbon-carbon composite preforms. Charge is loaded in graphite trays or as whole blocks depending on the product.
Halogen gas injection can be added to lower the required temperature and shorten the cycle where the feedstock has high silicon content. Exhaust passes through a condensing trap and a scrubber before venting.
